My 14 year old who is bi-polar has been diagnosed with Tardive
Dystonia. In short this gives him symptoms facial and speech
very much like someone with advanced Parkinson's. It is a side
effect of his medication Abilify.
We have suspected this was an issue for two years but all the
Doctors kept telling us it was not a side effect of this drug.
Now of course we understand it is and has been a known side
effect in Japan for several years.
Anyway stopping the medicine may or may not fix the problem.
It could be permanent. So besides doing what the neurologist
suggests, and looking at holistic therapy like homeopathy and
Therapeutic touch it would be a great help we believe for good
thoughts and or prayers to be sent Ari's way.
Of course anyone who may have experience with this and wants
to chime in back channel we are in a major listening mode.
