Problem solved.
In the Sharing set up on the server the Owner is the group Webstar and the
Group is the group Admin.
I am a member of the group Admin and both should have Read/Write privileges
but something about this combo of OS versions means that members of the
Group group don't have access but members of the Owner group do. So I added
my account to the Group Webstar and hey presto!
