Hey Jason,

The new IIS sets the default application pool using ASP.NET. Make a new
application pool and set it as classic. Also, check your authentication, and
ensure anonymous access is enabled.

Kind regards,

Scott,

Thanks - I hadn't heard of that bit (just set it up and started winging it).
I did figure out a couple of things, but am tripping up on a more basic
issue I think.

You have to start by adding a 'Native Module' pointing to the Witango DLL
(Open IIS, click on your default site and from the list of icons,
double-click the 'Modules' icon. On the right you'll see a link to add a
'Native Module')

Then you can add Handler Mappings (you want 'module mapping' - enter the
extension and pick the Witango module).

That went fine. But I'm getting a 503 error when I try to look at anything.
I allowed Web Publishing (HTTP) in the firewall and even tried turning the
firewall off to no avail.

Any ideas?

Cheers-

Jason

(I'll post a more detailed writeup when I'm up and running)

You're a serious trail blazer there Jason, you might be the first.

I've had Vista for a couple months, but haven't even gotten around to trying
IIS7 with ASP.NET 3.0 yet (been too busy).

Have you installed the IIS6 compatiability components? That might help.

Subject: Witango-Talk: Vista/IIS setup for Witango server

Hi all-

I've got a Vista virtual machine running on my Macbook (quite well,

actually - very nice in the latest version of Parallels). I have

Witango working in Apache but could use some tips on setting up IIS -

the new version is quite a bit different from IIS 6. Can anyone give

me some pointers?

Thanks,

Jason
