I hear ya. I was just surprised. As critical as I am, I was looking forward to v6 studio, and planned to purchase. I even upgraded my staging servers to new compatible server version in anticipation. I won't go into detail, but there was so much missing, and it has been so long of a wait. I had ben download it also, to help give feedback, but in the end, we just dumped it, didn't know where to start. I guess when it at least can do what you can do in 5.5, and work, we will purchase.

I think an eclipse plugin would be good, and I have been critical of JAVA apps like this for a while. But Zend proved to me it could be done. The Zend Studio is amazing, and I love working in it, JAVA and all.

I used to send in requests too, and bug reports. Just felt like I was throwing them in a black hole. I stopped wasting my time.

Do you use eclipse alot, or just tooled around in it? Before Zend, I looked at it hard for php dev, just couldn't quite get into it. I looked at a ton of stuff actually, and tried eclipse a bunch.

Hi Robert,

I just keep throwing my ideas out as they occur to me, without expectation. I used to use the feature request form, but not only don't my requests get implemented, but the Witango request app hides the request from everyone including the requester. At least I have a record of what I asked for when I submit to the list.

I played with beta 6 for an hour. I still think it should have been an Eclipse plug-in, NOT a Java app [That was a request from June 25, 2003. ;)]

That seems very optimistic. I downloaded v6 hoping to be able to buy it and use it for my remaining witango clients. But it doesn't even have all of the features of 5.5. Many well used features in 5.5 were not in 6. I hope first they get at least up to the 5.5 feature list. I am really tired of using 5.5, especially with an intel mac.

How about an Array builder?

Specify the name, scope, number of rows and columns, and you get a spreadsheet like interface with a grid so you can quickly enter and edit the array values. A radio button lets you select output as an Action of as metatags to create an array variable and all the elements.
