We are not being very helpful.

I will re-state that I used to do witango/filemaker under MacOS 9. Never tried in OSX.

On Daniel's question "Apple Events: Can I get more debugging info?". I don't remember if you can. Never needed to. Can you see apple events if you increase logging level in witango preference file?

Most of you seem to forget that on Mac, witango talks to a local Filemaker Client via apple events instead of ODBC or JDBC. Filemaker does not fully support ODBC/JDBC until Filemaker 8. Colin is using FM 6.

His problem, if I understand correctly, is the witango studio can talk to and see the FM tables. He can create a TAF, but when he tries to run the taf, the server plugin fails to make a connection.

One suggestion was to "make sure of when you are setting a datasource is that you click 'Set deployment data source' set the 'Deployment datasource' to 'Specify' and then tick the 'Same as development' check box."

After some thought... Colin is using apache, which is probably a universal binary. Filemaker 6 (and witango studio?) is running under Rosetta. Maybe he needs to make apache run under Rosetta in order to get the server plugin to talk to FM?

Hi Daniel,

not read from your for a long time. To add my two cents, i am still waiting for the annouced version of witango (for mac).

To get back on the track.
I am sure that Colins Problem can be solved.

But before he can script FM from Witango he needs to get connected.

Colin, what is the status with that? With the server odbc should work. Try a simple direct dbms or simple select to show if you are connected.
