Are you sure have both windows host values setup the same? Do you
maybe have default domain setup on one, and not the other? MySQL host
issues, can be a pain at times, I use either localhost, and/or %. The
firewall takes care of which hosts can see mysql, makes it much easier.

I thought both ics9 and ics14 were set up identical. I setup a user
in MySQL on ics5 as follows as this was the only way ODBC access
from ics9 would work. The host had to be “ics9.askics.net”. When I
duplicated the user except for changing the host to
“ics14.askics.net”, the ODBC connector on ics14 couldn’t connect.
After a while I finally noticed that the user’s host had to be
“ics14” instead “ics14.askics.net”.
Can someone tell me how the ODBC connector on a server determines
the host? “ics14.askics.net” vrs “ics14”.
Thanks
