I would imagine some level of hype will be created when 6 is released, and that news will create some momentum.

I like both Witango and PHP and think they both have their place.
my livelihood comes from both and at times when working in one i wish for functionality of the other

Robert has provided for us a forum that we can take off this list and still maintain the both communities.
I would encourage all to join this forum (http://devcom.bighead.net).
Note: the forum is not only for PHP there are sections for other platforms for those to find assistance.

by moving some of these discussions to the forum, this will hopefully allow this list to return to a more positive light and prepare the list for the 6 new momentum

No, you're not alone.

But it seems I am alone with regards to marketing, product awareness and advertising. How can I sell a product that no one has heard about, yet been
on the market for 13 years? I get alot of customers wondering what
technology I am using. It's extremely hard to justify using WiTango to a client that has never heard of it. It is the best-kept secret in the web
development industry!

As for technology, other development platforms have features that WiTango does not have. I mean all the other platforms can parse XML, WDSL, and RSS
feeds effortlessly! To this day, I still have not seen or heard anyone
connect to a web service using WiTango! Version 6 needs to have this!

When you search for WiTango on the web, you get some articles from 2003:

Why Witango?

And this from PC Mag:
Definition of: Witango

A Web site development and deployment system from Witango Technologies Pty Ltd, Sydney, Australia (www.witango.com), formerly known as Tango 2000 from Pervasive Software, Inc. Considered a RAD tool with an exceptionally rich meta language, the product suite includes the Witango Development Studio visual development environment for Mac and Windows clients and the Witango Application Server for NT, OS X, Linux and Solaris. Witango was originally created by Everyware Corporation in 1995 and was acquired from Pervasive in
2001.

I'm sorry, but looking at how WiTango is advertised today, as a new
developer I wouldn't buy it. Would you?

Subject: Witango-Talk: Witango Version 6

Hey Everyone,

Am I the only one who cares about the question as to when version 6
is coming out? After all, this was the question that started that whole
heated thread that we went through recently...
