I just figured this out on another project. I calculate numbers from user input and populate a federal form PDF with them for printing.
It requires use of an FDF file. Unfortunately, we've had mixed results with it working well in the wild, with some complaints coming in that we can't reproduce and other problems that we can reproduce but not reliably. I also don't know if the problem is with Witango, my implementation or with something in how it all works (eg. I may be getting into some cross-domain issues) Adobe publishes the FDF format and it's pretty simple and hasn't changed. You can make example FDFs with acrobat and then feed them out of Witango (this was my solution) Robert -----Original Message----- From: Dan Stein [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, March 08, 2010 9:26 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Witango-Talk: Populating a PDF Has anyone managed to use Witango or some combination of Witango and JS to populated a PDF client side? I have a solution where as the end result of a series of form submits, the client wants a populated PDF for the user to print and sign. They are pretty strict about the printed result looking like or being their PDF. --- Dan Stein MSN CRNP FileMaker 7 Certified Developer FileMaker 9 Certified Developer Digital Software Solutions 303 W.
