Chuck,

Please make sure that the database is open and the server is running properly. 
The database must have ODBC/JDBC sharing active.

The JDBC URL should be in this format: 
jdbc:filemaker://{ipaddress}/{databasename}

Also, you should be using the latest JDBC driver (11.3)

Lastly, verify your username and password, and that the user has the 
appropriate permissions on the database.

I am just getting started with v6 and I am having a duh moment.  I really could

Dev Studio 6.0.7
Filemaker Server 11

OSX 10.6.x

Dev studio sees DB when I select datasources that is just fine.  But when I try 
to open the datasource to get at the fields I get error

Couldn't connect to datasource (datasource name) Error message 
[Filemaker][Filemaker JDBC] (802) Unable to open file.
