The HTTP Working Group is progressing a number of documents: * The QUERY HTTP method is nearing Working Group Last Call. This specification can be thought of as "GET with a request body."
* Resumable Uploads is progressing well, and not too far from WGLC. This specification allows a large upload to be resumed without restarting the entire transfer. * The HTTP Wrap Up Capsule describes a connection management mechanism for proxies using the Capsule Protocol. * Template-Driven HTTP CONNECT Proxying for TCP specifies a new way to configure a proxy in HTTP. * Security Considerations for Optimistic Protocol Transitions in HTTP/1.1 provides guidance for upgrading a connection from HTTP/1.1 to another protocol, such as WebSockets or MASQUE. * Secondary Certificate Authentication of HTTP Servers allows servers to introduce additional certificates onto a connection to enable coalescing. * No-Vary-Search allows servers to describe how the URL's query string affects the cache key, to improve efficiency. The group also has a number of documents in IESG evaluation and the RFC Editor queue; see: https://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/httpbis/documents/ for full details. We'll also be hearing about some other work in Bangkok, including: * HTTP Unencoded Digest, continuing the work of HTTP Digests * Delete-Cookie and _HttpOnly prefix, proposals for new Cookie-related mechanisms * Another revision of the Cookie specification (as has been discussed for some time) Cheers, -- Mark Nottingham https://www.mnot.net/ -- Witarea mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
