IIRC (and my long term memory is a bit sketchy these days since so much new
stuff has overfilled it), the code followed the existing InstanceTransform
stuff pretty well and was purely and extension and seemed reasonable to add
to WiX v3.x. I think that's why I recommended it to go to v3.8.
That said, I'm getting ready to move my focus to v4.x pretty quick so if
you want to put this feature there, I'm fine with that... although if it is
good in v3.x then it'll get ported to v4.x for free... which means you'd
make more people happy that are still trying to do instance transforms.
There are still some out there, despite its complexities. <smile/>
Anyway, your call but I would lean towards v3.x right now (assuming my
memory is correct <smile/>).
