I was reviewing the recording of the Triage session from a couple of weeks
ago.  (I had wanted to join that meeting but missed it.)  I also suspect
that I should post this comment to a specific issue in the new tracking
system, but I cannot access it (I think due to wixtoolset web site issues).

There was request for the current installed version to be written to a
Registry key and the triage discussion was to make this a 3.x issue.  I do
not have any concerns about this plan, pro or con, except that the current
installed version ("3.8.722.0" in my case) is in the registry in about 16
different locations, under various uninstall keys and com class
registrations, not counting the many other locations where the version is a
part of a larger string.
