I would have left this as a comment on wixtoolset but every time I try to
save a comment I get an error message telling me to retry.
There is a discussion about PNG support in MSI. I wanted to point out that
according to MSDN, starting in Win 7 / 2012 MSI does infact support a
variety of formats.

Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012: The image file can be in any standard
format supported by the Windows Imaging Component (WIC), including TIFF,
JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, and HDPhoto. The control does not support animation.
