Yes, I think it will. I did a quick comparison of the 3.9.702 to 3.9.720 changes in the source. ( I have to use my in-development setups to move other applications to QA on a regular cycle.) So I am using the 3.9.720 with the existing mba to meet some of those demands and then I will try to improve the mba along the lines that you have suggested.
