No problem - I just wanted to be sure this was an intended/expected breaking
change.

Other than this 3.9 is looking good with all the scenarios I have tried.

As discussed here many times, taking a new drop of WiX toolset expects you to
re-compile your code: source code (.wxs), extensions (.cs and .wxs for
.wixlibs), custom actions (built against the wixca.libs or DTF), bootstrapper
applications (native or managed).

In other words, we maintain source code/compile-time compatibility not binary
compatibility.

I have my own BalExtension UI and the version built against WiX 3.8 fails if I
build my installer with WiX 3.9 (it builds ok but crashes at runtime). if I
update the extension to 3.9 and then install then it is ok.

I think that the extra parameter in CWixStandardBootstrapperApplication is the
issue but haven't investigated in detail.

My question is whether this is/should be supported or not?
