I suggest reading the whole thread and when's there will be a time I can not say that something sucks than I'll try my luck with newspeak. So that you can get it: The while MSI stuff is overcomplicated, YMMV, and it sucks more than it rules. The tool builders just can ease the pain a bit, but that they need to do it is the real shame.
