I'm seeing an occasional issue using DifxApp, which a log reports as: DIFXAPP: INFO: ENTER UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices... DIFXAPP: ERROR: RETURN UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices. (Error code 0x3FD: Cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key.) DIFXAPP: ERROR: Installation failed. (Error code 0x3FD: Cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key.) DIFXAPP: ERROR: PnP Install failed. (Error code 0x3FD: Cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key.)
Running the installer again seems to be fine, so it's not a permanent problem. Has anyone seen this before? The solutions I found online say to delete the registry key in question, which I don't really think is safe in this situation.
