I typically try something other than WindowMaker on new machines (while
in that period where Real Work doesn't have to get done), and this last
attempt with some flavor of Fedora didn't impress me as being very good
in those two areas.
(Then again, I've never really been impressed with wireless networking
on Linux anyway.)

Are those the features that are actually keeping new users away?

I think it's an important thing to bring up, but I think it also
indicates a larger problem -- how do I find out what dockapps are
available, and if I put myself in the mindset of a person who is
new-to-windowmaker-but-not-{Linux,BSD,Solaris}, can I painlessly
find the dockapps or applications to do these sorts of things?
