I agree with the "dockapp approach", but perhaps the idea of a built-in systray dock should be considered for Window Maker 1.x in a near future. Currently there are 51215 lines of code under src (just cloned and counted it), and the current version of wmsystemtray dock has 1389 lines of code. A simple merge of code or writing a systray from scratch could be considered. In the first case the number of lines would increase around 2.71%, and the second less than this. In both cases the users would have a nice and fast Desktop with a system tray out of the box!! By the way, that's my first message to this list. I am a [non-programmer] old school Window Maker user which ran it from 1998 until 2006, who got happy when heard the news about this group of brave man who started to work in the project once again. :) I'll keep here silently reading all the good news, testing ever new code announced and sometimes dropping some lines to tell the developers about this end user impressions.
