OK, looks like the install base is a bit larger than I had exected :).
This is encouraging.

It completely slipped my mind in my announcement message, but I meant
to thank Rodolfo aka "kix" for helping me with this. He very patiently
helped me test on Debian (I'm mainly a Gentoo user at the moment), and
he was very helpful in showing me step-by-step instructions for git,
which is completely new to me.

As a side note, BSD compatibility might get a bit hairier than I
expected. I just had a peek at the FreeBSD 8.2 ports tree. Apparently
wmmon was removed quite some time ago due to security issues. It seems
it had to be installed suid or setgid to access kmem. So I'll have to
proceed with caution here, and cross-platform porting might need to go
on the back burner for a while. I don't want to repeat past mistakes
here.
