Greetings! Windowmaker 0.95.2 introduced a new tiled maximization known as Maximus.
Windowmaker NEWS file says: Maximus/Maximumize. A new tiled maximization, configured with a keyboard shortcut. Using it will maximize the window to the greatest area such that it will not overlap any other window of the same workspace. This can be configured in WPrefs in the "Keyboard Shortcuts" page, or in the config file with "MaximusKey". I have noticed that in some particular cases a window does not get properly resized when Maximus is used. I'll try to describe the issue: - create two windows, one over the other so that they don't overlap - use Maximus on the upper window - observe the number of pixels between the upper (Maximused) window and the lower window - deMaximuse the upper window so that it returns to it's original size - move the lower window a pixel or two toward the bottom of the screen - use Maximus on the upper window again - observe the number of pixels between the upper (Maximused) window and the lower window, notice that the the number of pixels (distance) between windows has changed - deMaximuse the upper window so that it returns to it's original size - continue repeating the above steps and notice that the distance between windows changes and at some point the upper window will even overlap the lower window by few pixels. I have found that the maximum distance between windows might reach 11px and the minimum distance might be -3px (overlaps the lower window by 3 pixels). Note that moving the upper window does not affect the distance between windows when Maximus is used while the moving of the lower window does. So, yet another complicated description from me. I anticipate a long thread. :-) -- Josip Deanovic -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [email protected].
