I'm new to these mailing lists. Windowmaker has imprinted itself into my memory, probably for all eternity now I've started using it.
The default menu for Window Maker 0.92 on Debian is static, containing a dozen or so programs and that is it. To try and edit it I supposedly need to convert the old menu into the new format, however that process fails in both WPrefs and wmakerconf. WPrefs 0.92 > Could not open default menu from > '/home/whales/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/plmenu' wmakerconf 2.12 > Can't convert old style menu /etc/X11/WindowMaker/menu.hook to menu in proplist format. Shell command failed. '/usr/share/wmakerconf/wm-oldmenu2new.sh /etc/X11/WindowMaker/menu.hook > /tm/wmcnfCU46V7' I'm running Debian testing (Squeeze) with an AMD64 kernel. The latest version of WindowMaker available from the repos is 0.92 Would this be fixable by compiling wmaker from source? -whales
