Yes, WM is far from dead. But the OP has a point. Somebody SHOULD take over the project. As all relevant development has gone into Carlos' repo, and there is no sign of the official maintainer picking up the project again, I think now is the time to do something about it. I remember sometime in the past Carlos had been offered to take over the project. I think this offer should be renewed, and Carlos should say 'yes'. He has shown that he knows how to maintain code and keep it stable. Also he will not be alone. People have been contributing in the past, and they will continue to do so in the future. The website still belongs to Alfredo Kojima. Maybe he is willing to make a statement on this? I've put him on BCC in this mail.
