Hello,

I am trying to install Window Maker 0.95.2 on a CentOS 5.8 (i386) system. I
downloaded the tar file, untarred it, and configure, make, make install seemed
to go well. However, when I ran wmaker.inst, it seems I've run into an issue
(see Terminal output below). It's configured Window Maker for a KDE environment
instead of a GNOME environment. What do I need to do to successfully set it up
for a GNOME environment, as well as switch my window manager over to Window
Maker?

I've also been consulting these instructions here in addition to your
instructions (even those these are for Fedora, should be similar enough). Seems
everything went great up until wmaker.inst.

I'm really looking forward to trying Window Maker. I'd love to have a NeXTSTEP
"feel" on my CentOS system.

Thanks a bunch for all your help!

Nathan Parker

Now the .xinitrc, .Xclients or .xsession script must be updated so that
it calls wmaker when you start an X session.
Type the name of the file that must be changed (normally .xinitrc).
If the file already exists, it will be backed up with a .old.Jun02.16:02:22
extension
If you want to edit it by hand, hit <Control>-C now.

Using .xinitrc as a default value

Installation Finished

Your copy of Window Maker is configured especially for KDE.
Window Maker application menus are not available.
