Not sure is this qualifies as a bug but here goes;

I have noticed over the years that there are a few (rare) circumstances
when keyboard focus appears to be lost.

One way to recreate is to open 2-3 windows on a given workspace and use
the window menu's "Move to" entry to move one of these windows to
another workspace.

Now once I dispatched window #1 I am left with window #2 and #3.. but
neither is focused.

This means that if I planto do the same thing with window #2 and #3
I have to use Alt+Tab to focus window #2 before I can open its window
menu. and so on...

Shouldn't one of the remaining windows automatically get the focus once
the focused window has been moved out of the way..?

I noticed another scenario that may be related. I recently ran into it
with the calibre epub management program.. but I've seen it happen with
other applications.

The main calibre window displays a list of the books in your library and
hitting "V" causes calibre to launch the ebook-viewer in a separate
window.

When you close this viewer window via a keyboard action such as CTRL+W
the main calibre window does not get focus back automatically. Here
again you need to hit Alt+Tab to focus the main window and proceed with
whatever you were doing.

A third scenario I have noticed in the past but that I have so far not
been able to reproduce is a bit more annoying:

Suppose you have two windows open full-screen with window #1 hiding
window #2.

Well, I clearly remember a scenario where I would open some dialog from
the application running in window #1.. close the dialog and quickly
decide that I wanted to exit the application via CTRL+W or CTRL+Q.

Well nothing happened.. at least nothing that I could see.. The
application I thought I had closed was still there.. What happened wat
that focus had somehow been tranferred to the hidden window #2 and
that's the one I had exited by mistake.

Come to think of it I don't remember running into this particular
scenario lately. So either I have amended my ways, or something has
changed in Window Maker.

Naturally, all the above could either be due to something in my setup,
or caused by misbehaving applications..

Just thought I'd report this, since this business of losing keyboard
focus (under rare circumstances, I admit) turns out to be the only
problem I have ever had over the 10+ years I have used Window Maker.

Thanks,

CJ
