I think that's the next big thing we're going to see:  an established paper
cutting staff at a scale we haven't imagined -- like, cutting a newsroom
from 220 people to 60 -- but making the commitment to continue to exist.
 The Rocky probably couldn't do this due to its enormous debt load.

Such a newsroom isn't going to get to as much, obviously.  It's going to
have to deploy resources the way a TV newsroom does.  But there would still
be the key difference of newspapers understanding what grown-up news is,
versus television stations covering firings and shootings and
ribbon-cuttings.
