Except in this case, there are no call letters. It is not an over-air
TV station.

"News 10 Now" is the actual name of the operation, as it is a Time
Warner Cable-owned cable news channel. It's not a broadcast station.
It's also not in Binghamton, it's in Syracuse, though it is indeed the
regional 24 hour news channel TWC offers to its subscriber in the
Binghamton market.

TWC also operates local cable news channels in New York City ("NY1"),
Albany ("Capital News 9"), Rochester ("R News"), and now Buffalo (the
newly-launched "Your News Now"/"YNN"). A friend of mine used to be a
reporter for R News. They are not available on satellite, as they are a
tool TWC uses to sell cable subscriptions.

If the news organizations didn't want to give the branding any
publicity, they could easily write something like "the Time Warner cable
news channel in Syracuse", or even "a Syracuse-based cable news
channel". I agree that the "Now" part of the branding, especially,
sounds like marketing, but that IS the channel's name.
