Good find, Beau (and not to make this weekend any more maudlin, but don't think
we've had a [GOODMAN] here since Tom left us).

Only thing I disagree with is that Leno's audience will return to its previous
numbers. Yeah, the true believers will always be there, but a lot of late-night
viewers have not only changed habits and may not be so eager to return. They've
also seen the mighty Leno fail, and rather badly. Yes, I know there are some
who say they'll never watch NBC again, but I don't think that'll be that much
of a factor.

Conan's scorecard:

===Best thing that could ever happen to him. Be careful what you wish for,
kids. Conan wanted to host "The Tonight Show" but he was never a good match.
And once he got his wish, watching him was never as much fun - until NBC put a
shiv in his back. Then CoCo came alive. This allowed him to prove to his die
hard fans - and the desirable younger demo - that he was still funny. He was
able to kill NBC in the process, take their money and in all likelihood will
end up at Fox or somewhere else, his status raised considerably. He had to
learn the hard way that "The Tonight Show" of his dreams wasn't "The Tonight
Show" of Johnny Carson's days. It was well and badly watered down. This is the
best possible result to having your dreams die.
