not, I see the GOP solidifying their grip on Congress in 2012.

I disagree. Not only are the GOPers going to take both chambers by a
comfortable margin, but after the economy recovers (on its own with no
help from Congress), the Teabaggers are going to be hailed as the best
thing since sliced bread. Since none of them are going to want to do
anything about Citizens United, their corporate masters will continue to
buy them elected office for life.
Not this time around, at least.
Historian Michael Beschloss noted on the Daily Show last night that the
last
three Presidents who dealt with midterm losses which resulted in the loss
of
a house in Congress- Truman, Eishenhower and Clinton- all went on to
second
terms.
