Minutes
1. Open Action Items - Lawrence Mandel
2006-09-12 - John to liaise with Chinthaka on when these will be available, how soon afterwards Woden M6 can be available and confirm that Axis2 will actually pick up this M6 release of Woden.
2006-09-26
John: XmlSchema and Axiom have been released. M6 should be ready. I haven't received confirmation that Axis2 will bundle M6.
2006-09-12 - Arthur to check on W3C WSDL2 WG time frame for PR phase and next interop event and feedback to Woden community.
2006-09-26
Arthur: November 13 is the tentative date for the interop event. The likely site is at Canon in France. PR timing looks like June.
John: Jonathan Marsh was going to check with Paul Downing to see if he's interested in participating in the interop event. One possibility is to do a couple days in the UK. Also, Sanjiva and Paul indicated they'd be interested in participating in a European interop event.
2006-09-12 - John to revise an M7 plan (based on original M6 plan), distribute, then try to finalize at next week's telecon.
2006-09-26
John: I did a quick update on the milestone plan on the website. The M7 plan is the M6 plan with a couple items added at the bottom. URI resolver, removing DOM dependency and completing the Axiom implementation. Please comment.
Arthur: Can we adjust the date for the interop event?
John: Sure.
Closed.
2006-09-12 - John to complete review of Oshani's code in WODEN-44
2006-09-26
John: I've completed half. More to do.
2006-09-12 - ALL - review Jeremy's WODEN-40 branch.
2006-09-26
John: I reviewed it after it was merged. Looks good to me.
Arthur: Is there an easy way to compare the branch with the trunk?
Jeremy: Yes. In Eclipse. Use compare.
2006-09-12 - John, or others, review Graham's WODEN-14 patch
2006-09-26
Jeremy: I had a look. I spoke with Graham about putting a test together so we can easily test this enhancement.
Graham: No update on the test yet.
2006-09-12 - John circulate his Telecon number for next weeks call.
2006-09-26
Lawrence: This action is no longer applicable.
Closed.
Deferred, pending other actions:
2006-09-12 - John will update the M7 plan on the website once finalized.
2006-09-26
John: Done.
Closed.
2006-09-12 - John will add Oshani to the website's committers list when updating the M7 plan.
John: Done.
Closed.
2. Milestone (M6/M7) Status - John Kaputin
Jeremy: Arthur found some NPEs.
Arthur: I found two JUnit failures and a problem with the Ant task. I haven't had time to diagnose the source of the problem. I posted about the problems to the list.
John: I think the problem is the test cases aren't in the W3C test case.
Arthur: So the JUnit test suite probably doesn't test everything in the W3C test suite.
Lawrence: Correct. It's hard coded. We discussed a dynamic way to extract and test the W3C test suite.
[Action] Jeremy will investigate a method for testing the W3C test suite based on what he did with XmlSchema.
John: In terms of time frame we either do an M6 with what we've got or fix the test cases and get the test suite up to date. The reason for doing M6 is to get Axis and up-to-date build.
Arthur: I don't think there's anything wrong with declaring M6 now and fixing the few failures afterwards. We've got a very high pass rate.
[Action] John will investigate the 2 Jiras Arthur's raised for the JUnit failures.
Arthur: Do we have tests to contribute to the W3C?
John: Yes. I've created some WSDL docs for the Woden test suite.
John: According to the Apache process we need to sign our releases. I'm looking into this and if we'll need to do this for M6 or if we can postpone for M7.
John: We have enough votes for M6. I'll start the incubator PMC approval after this call.
3.Development Discussion - All
Jeremy: I posted to the list about splitting up the build. Please read and comment.
John: There's a need to help complete the test suite. The working group page has a coverage report that shows what else needs to be covered.
Arthur: We're pretty good about covering the elements and attributes. The bulk of the work going forward is to check the validator. We need two things: a test that violates each assertion and a check in Woden that catches the failure.
Arthur: As a heads up, features and properties will likely be removed from the spec.
4. Other Business - Open
No other business was raised.
Thanks,
Lawrence Mandel
