Hi John,

I have no objections with changing the namespace. The issue was that we,ve
been using the 2004 & 2006 namespaces for some time and may have to
depricate them. I'm +1 for the change.

Just post a mail to the axis2 or woden list before once you make the change
so that we can keep axis2 in sync.

Thanks,
Keith.

change 'manageable' for implementors, so I'm happy to do the work in the
Woden code and test WSDL. Apologies to Axis2 devs who may also need to
change their code (Keith?), however as Jonathan says, this change does
provide a simpler, shorter namespace.

Also, it follows a new namespace convention emerging within the W3C with
recent specs such as WS-Addressing and WS-Policy to use this
http://www.w3.org/ns/XXXX short namespace format for all new W3C
namespaces.

I'll post to the woden-dev list when I'm ready to do this change in Woden,
so we can sync it up any necessary changes in Axis2.

regards,
John Kaputin

All, looks like the namespace will change after all.

Thank you for this comment. The Working Group this issue as a CR153 [1].

The WG decided to shorten the namespace of WSDL 2.0 to
http://www.w3.org/ns/wsdl, and change the related namespaces and
identifiers
accordingly. The impact on implementers was judged manageable compared
with
the benefits of a shorter URI. The namespace change will occur in our PR
publication (hopefully in a couple of weeks).
