Sriram,
I've been away for a few days. Back tomorrow, so will look through the 
JIRAs and make some suggestions for you. The deprecated methods you 
mention are in Woden code - they became redundant close to M7 release, so 
I made them deprecated as I didn't have time to coordinate with Woden 
users on their removal from the API.  I will do so for the next release.
