As per our draft guidelines [1] for getting approval for the use of
ASF trademarks at third party events I would like ConCom to vote on a
proposal for a Wookie (Incubating) meetup in London on Oct 13th.
Full details are at [2] summary is:
This is a one day meetup in London for people who are interested in
creating Widgets, sharing ideas about Widgets, and turning
applications into Widget containers.
All financial commitment is covered by JISC CETIS (a not for profit
service for the UK education sector). The event will bear no charge
and will be free to all who register.
JISC CETIS want to use the ASF brands in the sense of "supported by
the Apache Software Foundation" in order to help them reach out to the
non-acadmic sector, their usual audience. They would also appreciate
any help ConCom can give in publicising the event.
Oversight will be provided by Ross Gardler and Sylvain Wallez (Sylvain
has yet to confirm, I will cancel this vote thread if he does not
confirm).
Committers planning to attend: Ross Gardler, Scott Wilson, Ate Douma,
Andrew Savory.
Hmm... I'm a bit confused here. I won't be able to attend (although I
wish I could), so how can I provide oversight?
Or is it about reviewing material beforehand? In this case I'd be more
than happy to do it!
Sylvain
