Hi everyone,

I’m very much interested in taking part in Apache Wookie for the
upcoming Google summer of code and I’m also expecting to continue my
contributions even after the gsoc.

Excellent, it's good to hear from you.

I’m a 3rd year undergraduate in the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka
and presently working as an intern in WSO2 which is a 100% open source
organization.

I know some of your colleagues at WSO2 very well, I trust you are all keeping well.

It would be grateful if anyone of you can help me with getting started
with gsoc by providing information about the Apache Wookie gsoc
projects and your expectations.

At this stage the ASF is not officially part of GSoC. Nobody is as the applications process has not started yet. Off course, having been the largest organisation involved each year we do expect to be accepted again this year, but there are no guarantees.

Since we are not yet officially participating we have not yet officially announced it to our projects and thus the projects have not yet defined their GSOC projects.

Having said that, I am an admin on GSoC and for the first time since 2005 I will be looking to mentor someone on Wookie. There may be others in this community wanting to mentor folk.

I do have a few projects in mind, these will be announced once we are officially a part of GSoC. However, I'd like to invite you to propose something useful for your work with WS02, I'd love to see your Mashup server working with Wookie widgets for example.
