This recipe is one out of a Pillsbury Cookbook from years ago. I make it every christmas. For those of you that love maple its a great recipe. It also makes a large batch. They will vanish fast they are so good.
Northwoods Maple Nut Cookies 6 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp, baking powder 1 tsp. Salt 2 c. sugar 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 1/2 c. margarine 1 c. oil 5 Tbsp. maple ( apox. a small 2 oz bottle ) 3 large eggs 2 c. toasted pecans or walnuts - chopped Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking powder, and salt - Set aside In a large bowl beat sugar, brown sugar, butter, oil, maple flavoring, and eggs till smooth. Gradually stir in flour mixture, mixing well. Stir in nuts. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour or until dough is firm. Form 1" balls placed on an ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart. Flatten balls with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. These Cookies will hold the shape of the glass. So I use one that has a design on the bottom of the glass. Bake at 350 degrees 8 to 10 minutes or till edges turn light golden brown. Makes 10 Dozen Cookies at 100 calories each
