thats because there is no proof that god exists other than the "word" of "PROPHETS", all of whom made or make money or gather power by espousing their position. This is why religions are also known as "beliefs" and why a person must have "faith".
God is like "most" companies on the stock market.... people have a lot invested in them but they have no physical product and produce nothing while taking your money and time. If there indeed was a "real" god with real "proof" we would all be one religion, one "faith". there is no religion that is not fractured or splintered into opposing sub-groups and factions that actually kill each other over differences in "beliefs" or simple "expressions of beliefs". Religion separates it does not bring together. Please do not use such a metaphor in the future.
