Follow-up Comment #1:

The assertion failing checks also that no other code uses the synchronized
random source when it should not. This is the case for the current AI
implementation which means that random sources get out of sync in network
games with the AI.

As a workaround use a non debug build and use the AI only in non network
games.

I am working on an AI replacement which is compatible to the network code.
