Well, as far as I know, there are four places where anyone starting a
translation is supposed to mention it (in one of them, at least). Three
of these are on the WordPress wiki, and the other is this mailing list.
I do not see Gujarati on the wiki pages. Two references are found on the
mailing list, however:
In July 2006 Kartik Mistry (kartik.mistry at gmail.com) wanted to do it.
Hemang Tannaa (hemangkris at gmail.com) responded that he had started on
it.
Perhaps you can contact these people and get some cooperation from them.
Anyway, you asked me in a private mail to create a Gujarati section on the
Locamotion Pootle server, and since it doesn't appear that there is
currently an official Gujarati transaltion team, I'll do so.
If you can find old or previous Gujarati translations of WordPress, we can
upload it to the Pootle server to ensure that the work of previous
translators are not lost.
