Ronald - yes that's been one of my arguments - that this swings WP too far in the direction for those that want it all easy. From one end to the other... If you read back through this thread then we are being told basically to write a plugin.

I've missed a lot of this discussion and may be mentioning something that
has already been said but it seems to me that there are two camps.

users who want subposts and image insertion - but no TinyMCE interference and users who are happy to use TinyMCE and any GUI options there are to make
their life easy.

Now, the later are catered for but the former are not. All I want is to click a button and have a subpost with the image and its description and the piece of code to insert in my post so that the image is displayed. What I
then do with that piece of code is up to me.

How hard would it be to have such a button...?

All the best,

Ronald

Subject: Re: [wp-testers] Upload and use of Images

Thanks Owen/David

It was pretty obvious but it was late and I was tired!

One issue I raised was using TinyMCE, dragging and dropping an image
and then having to edit the result to insert a CSS class.
Your response was that I have to do that now in 1.5 - which is true.

The difference is that with 2, I now have to add a further step of
opening up the HTML window to make the edit. This is just another
area where the use of the editor really saves nothing and complicates
further.

The image alignment options are not really that useful for many
people who want to float them.

wp_upload_dir() prepends ABSPATH to the path, so you'll have to
use just:

define('UPLOADS', 'wp-content/images');

Yeah, I did check this, but ended up checking the cache code. Sorry
about the confusion.
