Windows can handle both styles of path separators, You can even access paths such as /www/ on windows to access c:\www\ (Well, the driveletter the PHP script it on).

Given that this is IIS, its also entirely possible that the Security privileges are not set properly on the uploads directory, in which case all uploads will fail (thus my question). You'll need to verify that the IIS user has read/write to the folder and subfolders, You may need to go up to C:\Inetpub\vhosts\qbuster.net\httpdocs\ and ensure that the security priv's are set to inherit to all child objects

It looks like it's an issue with installing on windows instead of
linux - note the directory and the switch in separator slash
direction....

I had 2.9 installed and decided to try a straight conversion.
This went very cleanly.

It was only when I tried to change header images that I came across
problems.

Selected an image to import and received an error about being unable
to write file:

The uploaded file could not be saved to

C:\Inetpub\vhosts\qbuster.net\httpdocs\wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/04.

Using ftp I checked and saw the folder wasn't present to created it
and tried the import again to receive a similar message:

The uploaded file could not be moved to

C:\Inetpub\vhosts\qbuster.net\httpdocs\wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/04.

I moved file over manually but header image didn't change.

Regards

Will
