Thanks greatly for this - I was on empyre at one time, but haven't seen it for a while. - Alan

Not sure if you're missing anything but Christina McPhee invited Christophe
Bruno, Erik Kluitenberg, Christiane Paul, herself and yours truly to
discuss whether 'Modernity is our Antiquity'. Somehow it's also connected to
preparations for the next Documenta thing in Kassel, too.

What are we missing on the Empyre list?

Sir-i-ously, & madame, i thought i recognised some lines of my very
uncertain thinking in your 'interviews' here + i rather admire what
you're doing although i only get a third of it & meanwhile
the whole
discussion thing on the empyre list has given me harsh
headaches, i
never should have gotten into that, so i just wanted to
say, oh yes to
all of that + & who cares as long as you like what you're doing +
whenever you try to join in discussions like those people
don't really
react to what you're saying or try to arrive at a clearer
picture of
the questions but only want to advance answers that will get them
upward in the bl* art market so now instead of an interesting talk
what you get is facing walls of silence & me with my
general error of
ignarance stuck in the middle so i'll be damned if i write another
thing on the subject before the month is through + they should have
asked artists to discuss things like this & not some
half-wit nobody
like me so what's this sacrifice i don't know & who's losing what &
where's the bad luck & perhaps i should have better stayed
drunk all
day long like i used to instead of starting this poking
this useless
this whatever in all this untsoweiter untsoweiter

Otherwise the sun is shining & and i had a really nice day
in Brussels
today. We were making inventories of some fountains we need
to manage
there so i was climbing into those tech-room concrete cellar along
with the service guy who was complaining all the time about
his life
had gotten into la merde because he was sick ond tired of
his wife and
he met his first love again recently but it's really a
magical thing
if you pull the switch on one of those big installations and 20
fountains start up for the first time after winter and all those
people with their worried faces waiting for the bus start
smiling for a moment...
