Great comments Marco. I feel the email you just sent out demonstrates your vital role as "ombudsman"/mediator in clarifying this "confusion" that I discussed in the email that Fred responded to today.
Possibly this could facilitating the organization of the wiki wsfii.africa.2007 wiki as well coordinating the organization of the summit itself. I totally agree with you; is not so much about the labeling or branding, but the process and how that process strengthens our human networks as well as the wireless ones. Possibly we could say something like this on the front page: The backdrop of the summit will be an effort to organize the first Open Digital Village in Winneba Ghana. Participants in the Wireless Roadshow and the Summit will have opportunities not only to consider various similar assets based community development approaches, and share best practices with each other (discussing various compelling concepts as well actual projects that have achieved practical actions) but also participate in getting the ODiV in Winneba fully operational building on the previous milestones. This will be a "working summit". Any Feedback appreciated. Fred's to address your comments: this is an incomplete list of our accomplishments over the last several years: http://www.onevillagefoundation.org/ovf/accomplishments.html I see them as little steps towards a grander vision and this is what the Winneba Open Digital Village (WODiV) has the potential to be. Fred, While I think your comments were a bit unfair and harsh, I must admit that I would have liked to have seen us proceed to a greater degree in getting the Winneba Open Digital Village operational than we have. The expected funding has been delayed and this has affected our ability to get PrepConf going as we had anticipated. Kafui and I will be working hard in the coming months to raise the needed funding to move forward on our targets/milestones. Any help from any of you would be appreciated. This includes leads, ideas for possible funding, volunteering, and of course any amount of money you can put into the process. We are working hard to move the project forward with the limited funding that we now have. I am expecting that we will receive a small grant and that the first payment from that grant will come in May so that should help us to move forward on this project. Kloschi said he was going to transfer the ODiV content to the www.wsfiiafrica2007.org site so that should help to address any confusion about opendiv.org. I think www.wsfiiafrica2007.org is a more appropriate naming of the website for the conference and is addressing the point that Marco made below.
