Hello, Our developers are planning to use FTP over SSL, between machines on our customer's LANs, and a machine on our own company firewall DMZ. The customers act as the clients, and our DMZ machine is the server.
They plan to use the WS_FTP Ipswitch software. Can someone tell me what ports are used by the WS_FTP software? I need to know what access to open on the customer's own firewalls, to allow outbound WS_FTP connections. I need to know what access to open on our own firewall to allow inbound WS_FTP connections. Is this all simply done with standard TCP 20, 21, and >1023 ports? Or does this product use TCP port 989, 990, and possibly others? Does the WS_FTP server software accept passive FTP connections?
