Scott,

Instead of reinstalling try applying the 1.05 patch from the Ipswitch
website (www.ipswitch.com) to see if this corrects any problems with the
service.  If you need to reinstall there is an article on
http://support.ipswitch.com that discusses how to backup WS_FTP Server.
