Hi,
I have two
questions, the first is I can't find how to view the posts for this list serve
via a newsreader (I assume that is possible so if anyone could let me know I'd
appreciate it).
The second question
I have is related to nesting folders and how permission flow. I want
to setup a folder structure like with a private and public folder in the root,
the public folder would be for mass consumption and the private for designated,
authenticated users. The private folder (and permissions) would look
something like this:
- Private (Read & List)
- Private\Customer1\Drop (List and Write)
- Private\Customer1\Pickup (Read and List)
- Private\Customer2\Drop (List and Write)
- Private\Customer2\Pickup (Read and List)
You get the idea
hopefully. What I can't get from the documentation, but what appears
to be a problem is that I've found through trial and error that permissions from
the private folder are inherited by any folder beneath and you can't "expand" or
increase the rights of a user on one of its subfolders. So my question is
are subfolders limited to the most restrictive permissions of the parent folder
or can you expand the permissions of subfolders (and if so how)? I would
prefer to have a nested folder structure to simplify and "hide" the design of my
FTP site, but this seems to be a limitation with this product. Any help
would be appreciated. Thanks.
