Bob:

Here’s some tips that hopefully will help.  Make sure you have the option on the host menu to automatically “save password” deselected (editing client’s site options).  On the advanced tab, make sure that FTP is selected for server type;  try selecting the firewall type to none.  Make sure the remote port is set to 21.  On the server, in General Host Settings, make sure Force SSL is selected.  For Firewall Options, enter the IP address for the host.  In the Configure SSL tab make sure the certificates are there (private key and certificate).  On the options tab make sure that the name of the host is selected (yoursite.com).  After making any changes on the server make sure that you stop and then restart the service.

Let me know what happens and I’ll try to help further if none of the above helps.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] WS_FTP PRO Client behind firewall

After configuring and having Ipswitch Tech test the WS-FTP Server with SSL turned on, I find that the server is working fine.  The problem comes with the client.  I have several clients behind a Netger firewall.  It seems that the Netgear firewall is preventing the SSL commands from going through.  I wonder if there is a workaround or if I have to purchase a more compliant firewall.
