Title: Unable to log on
Doug,

Are you sure that you are connecting to the WS_FTP Server?  Is there another server running on that machine?  Like Microsoft FTP Services maybe?  Look at the welcome string that is displayed in the log window when you initially connect to the server.  It should tell you what it is.  If it doesn't say WS_FTP Server, you need to verify that you are connecting to the right machine, then verify that no other services are using port 21.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Unable to log on

I hope somebody has an idea on this one; I am stumped.

We designed an application around the FTP server and tested it while it was still inside our network.  We have now moved it to a DMZ, in preparation for making available from the internet, but now my FTP logon doesn't work.  I am able  to connect.  I get the USER and PASSWORD prompts.  After replying to the prompts, I get a message that says my logon/password is bad.  I went into WS-FTP ADMIN program and reset the password but it didn't help.

I also am not getting the banner display when I connect.  Could this be going out on a strange port # or ?  The only way I have gotten it to work is by using TERMINAL SERVICES to logon to the box, and then doing 'FTP LOCALHOST'.  I then get the banner and my logon works.

        Any useful instructions are appreciated.
