I haven't tried it with WSFTP, the usual practice is to prepend the command with QUOTE.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] Scripting/USER command
Hi,
My apologies if this has been asked before.
I am attempting to script a ftp session using wsftp ver. 8.03 (eval).
A portion of the script is as follows;
USER larryc1
PASS passwd1
CONNECT ftpserver.oreilly.com
USER larryc2 PASSWD2
Everything works until I hit the 4th line.
Line 4 is the command I'm having problems with. I want wsftp to
transmit the command "USER larryc2 PASSWD2" to the remote
machine. Instead it gives me "] Processing Line [user larryc2 PASSWD2] "
How can I get WSFTP to transmit the command instead of "processing" it?
thanks!
regards,
larryc
