Title: I would like to find out the pw for the user accounts

I don’t think there is any server level software that will obtain the passwords for you, but if you still have copies of the clients w/ the passwords saved you can decrypt the password from the ini file (for versions 6 and previous) with some online tools such as:

This online form will decrypt any stored WS_FTP password (this comes in handy when you have an account that works on your machine but not the password).
For WS_FTP Pro go here:
http://www.hispasec.com/directorio/laboratorio/Software/ws_ftp.html
and enter in the string that is located in your c:\documents and settings\your username\Application Data\Ipswitch\WS_FtP\Sites\ .ini file
in the .ini file there will be something like:
PWD=”VAFEC1C6511F241A31D3C87C4C202C7D8743A6A7B3B69A5AD5B”
And just take out the quotes and paste in the whole string
For WS_FTP LE go to the same place
But the .ini file to get the PWD string is located in your install directory (usually c:\program files\WS_FTP\) called WS_FTP.ini

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] I would like to find out the pw for the user accounts

Hi All,,, we have quite a few legacy FTP pro  accounts that have been around for
quite a long time, and as such these new users that come on board don't know what the
pw is for their user accts. Some of these users have never been told what pw is.
Is their any way that I can run a report or edit a file that will show me the User acct
and the associtated Pw?
Were running WS_FTP Pro  ver 8.02 2003
I have check the knowledge base for FTP Pro and see no specific hits to my question above.

thank you.
