Well that's great! Thanks John. Yes I still have the original invoice dated Feb of last year so it's quite legal. I was more concerned that, having been discontinued it would somehow not work for me. I have a smallish website along with a message board and I have never placed any real demand on the utility. I load my one page at a time and I'm quite happy with that.

I don't understand all the problems, why mess with something that is working perfectly? Don't answer, the question was rhetorical.

I ran it on XP just fine.  Interface is not slick and a bit outdated, but it does the job wonderfully well as you say, is very stable.  Legally, you have the CD, so go for it.  I regret having seemed to have lost the ability to go back to it.   Its been a hard upgrade path after that.

Subject: [WS_FTP Forum] WS_FTP version 8.03

I used to run version 8.03 on my old computer which is no longer connected to the internet. It was a wonderful FTP utility, easy to use and uncluttered with unnecessary features. It never once let me down.

I have read many complaints on the newer versions. My question is, can I still use my old version? I have here the original CD with a brand new instruction book and I'm itching to load this baby into my new XP Pro SP2. Is it still okay to do so?
